1. Mpumalanga route
- N12 via Benoni to Witbank where the N12 joins the N4.
Northern suberbs residents may find it preferable to take the M1/N1 past Pretoria and pick up the N4 to Witbank immediately north of Pretoria
- N4 past Middelburg to Belfast off-ramp
- R540 through Belfast, Dullstroom to Lydenburg [left into R36 shortly before Lydenburg
- R36 through Lydenburg & through Ohrigstad, on over Abel Erasmus pass & through the Strydom Tunnel
- Left at Strydom Tunnel Plaza [service station] – 15 to 20k after the descent from the tunnel, [still the R36, towards Tzaneen]
- Right after some 10k into R526 which goes to a T-junction with the R40, coming up from Hoedspruit
- Left into R40, past Mica, straight run into Phalaborwa
- Follow signs to Kruger Park
- At Spar turn right and follow signs to Hans Merensky Golf Estate
- Go to reception & collect keys to your lodge
Scenic diversion
Take an extra couple of hours and travel via Blyde River Canyon & Pilgrims Rest
2. Limpopo route
- M1/N1 past Pretoria, all the way to Polokwane [five toll plazas]
- Just before Pietersburg take R71 off-ramp to Tzaneen, passing University of the North, Moria [Bible City] & Magoebaskloof
- The R71 goes all the way to Phalaborwa but look out for a left turn at Gravelotte, some 50ks after Tzaneen
- Once in Phalaborwa follow h.- j. above
