1. Mpumalanga route
a. N12 via Benoni to Witbank where the N12 joins the N4.
Northern suburbs residents may find it preferable to take the M1/N1 past Pretoria and pick up the N4 to Witbank immediately north of Pretoria
b. N4 past Middelburg to Belfast off-ramp.
c. R540 through Belfast, Dullstroom to Lydenburg [left into R36 shortly before Lydenburg]
d. R36 through Lydenburg & through Ohrigstad, on over Abel Erasmus pass & through the Strydom Tunnel
e. Left at Strydom Tunnel Plaza [service station] - 15 to 20k after the descent from the tunnel, [still the R36, towards Tzaneen]
f. Right after some 10k into R526 which goes to a T-junction with the R40, coming up from Hoedspruit
g. Left into R40, past Mica, straight run into Phalaborwa
h. Follow signs to Kruger Park
i. At Spar turn right and follow signs to Hans Merensky Golf Estate
Scenic diversion
Travel via Pilgrims Rest & Blyde River Canyon
2. Limpopo route
a. M1/N1 past Pretoria, all the way to Polokwane [four toll plazas]
b. Follow the N1 around Polokwane and take the R71 off-ramp to Tzaneen, passing the University of the North, Moria [Bible City] & Magoebaskloof
c. The R71 goes all the way to Phalaborwa but look out for a left turn at Gravelotte, some 50ks after Tzaneen
d. Once in Phalaborwa follow h. - i. above
